there have been performances done by other couples during the wedding - most of them pop dances. while finalizing the program flow for our wedding reception, my mother-in-law was very persistent that we top all those performances with something that is grand and never been done before. mheing (my sister-in-law) suggested that we cover the hugh grant ditty "way back into love" from the music and lyrics movie.

it was one tough decision since i am not much of a singer. nevertheless, i gave in if only to put some spark in otherwise dull and bland reception. the surprise number was not incorporated in the program, instead it served as the opening number for the grand entrance of the couple. on top of that, we made an mtv-videoke to add flavor and color to the song.

we spent two days for our location shoot in fernwood gardens, UP grounds and parks and wildlife. dong was our patient cameraman and yayam padilla was the director. it was ably edited by rd under his rodex film/video productions.

everyday while driving to the office, i had to play the mp3 version of this song in the car stereo to familiarize the tune, timing and the lyrics. mamu had a hard time memorizing her lines (i don't know if two caesarian operations had anything to do with her memory gap). nevertheless, this is one of the most applauded part of the program. but i guess the applause was more for the effort, not so much for our vocal prowess.
